1. Nature of the Service
Newark Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, indexes, library collections, and record custodians in Newark, Ohio, and Licking County. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with any public office, court, library, or custodian.
2. Permitted and Prohibited Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or material reached through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person.
- Attempt to locate someone protected by a court order or confidentiality program.
- Commit fraud, identity theft, or deception.
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, or tenant matters.
- Scrape, bulk-copy, or republish service content at scale.
- Interfere with site operations, security, or access controls.
3. No Consumer Reporting Agency
Newark Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither this reference nor a result from a linked service is a consumer report, and neither may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.
4. Third-Party Resources
Government portals, library systems, archives, and sponsored search services have independent terms, privacy practices, access rules, and availability. Newark Residents Directory does not control their content, pricing, results, or data handling.
5. No Warranty
The service is provided as available and without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a source, link, coverage date, office procedure, or result is complete, current, accurate, or available at a particular time. Confirm a record with the custodian before relying on it.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record or search result.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the service operators from claims, demands, reasonable attorneys’ fees, and losses arising from your misuse of the service or a violation of these terms.
8. Copyright and Reuse
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is permitted. Republishing full pages or systematically copying site material is not.
9. Changes to Terms
The operators may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after the revision is posted means acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Access Restrictions
The service may restrict or block access for conduct that violates these terms, threatens the service, or abuses its resources. Restriction may occur without advance notice.
11. Ohio Law
Ohio law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Ohio Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, governs access to qualifying public records held by Ohio public offices; it does not override court confidentiality, statutory exemptions, or these terms.
12. Severability
If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
13. Questions
