Information You Send
A name, telephone number, or address entered into a sponsored search form is handled by the provider that serves that result. Newark Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches. An email or other direct message supplies only the information included in that message, which may be used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. Those records are reviewed in aggregate for operation, security, and general audience measurement. Cookies or comparable tools may support ordinary analytics or advertising measurement where used.
How Limited Data Is Used
Technical and contact information is used to operate the service, correct problems, understand broad traffic patterns, respond to messages, and protect the service. Visitor lists are not sold, and the service does not create profiles of individual visitors.
External Links and Search Tools
Links lead to county, state, library, archive, and third-party services. Their own privacy notices control data submitted to them, including a sponsored search provider. Review the receiving service’s terms and privacy policy before entering personal information.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting, analytics, and operational providers may process the technical data described above on behalf of the service. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared as a visitor database.
Reasonable Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection and keeps logs only for the operational purposes described here. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or user profiles maintained by Newark Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information directly, contact the service so that message can be addressed.
Privacy Requests and Public Files
Visitors may ask about personal information held in a direct contact message or ordinary operational records through the Contact page. Research located no comprehensive Ohio consumer-privacy or data-broker deletion statute that creates a universal removal right for accurate public-record material. Public records held by Ohio, Licking County, or Newark are controlled by the relevant custodian; Ohio Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, and record-specific exemptions govern their disclosure. An error in a government file should be raised with that office.
Policy Changes
Any revision will appear on this page. Continued use after a posted revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
